Joseph Chan was born in Sarawak, Malaysia. He later went abroad to pursue his studies at the University of Victoria (Canada) and Kent University (United Kingdom) before migrating to Australia in 1986. Shortly after his arrival, he completed his L.L.B. at Bond University and was subsequently admitted as a solicitor. Since then, he has exclusively practiced migration law.

Joseph is a highly experienced professional, advising many major corporations on migration law both within Australia and internationally. His expertise is particularly well-regarded in Queensland. In addition to his legal prowess, Joseph speaks fluent Cantonese, Mandarin, and other Chinese dialects, ensuring clear and effective communication with a diverse clientele. Clients can be confident in his leading knowledge, experience, and expertise in Australian migration law.

He is an active member of the Queensland Law Society and is registered with the Migration Agents Registration Authority (Registration Number - 9473825). Additionally, Joseph is a public notary.
